The annual Seaside 4th of July Celebration kicks off at 8AM with a patriotic parade down Scenic 30A, concluding in Seaside for more July 4th festivities. There will be a concert by the Victory Belles at 7PM and an amazing fireworks show at 8:30PM.
Start bright and early with our Bike Decorating Contest & Breakfast. (7:30 AM) followed by the Bike Parade throughout the Town Center (8:30 AM). Enjoy an old-fashioned family field day on Western Green with sack races, water balloon toss, games prizes and more (9:00 AM). Rock to the sounds of the different decades with our band the “Like Totally” Hep Cats on Western Green (6:00 PM). Enjoy a star spangled fireworks display from the beach courtesy of the Rosemary Beach Property Owners Association (8:45 PM). Blankets and Lawn Chairs are welcome.
The fireworks will be launched over Boggy Bayou at Dusk. There will be plenty of kids activities such a train ride, bounce house, and a water slide. Bring the whole family and spend the day celebrating Independence Day! The most popular places for public viewing of the annual fireworks show are Lincoln Park, Lions Park, and the Turkey Creek area in Niceville. Parking is limited.
Close out your Independence Day celebration with a fireworks show over Navarre Beach on July 4th at 9PM. Fireworks will be launched from Navarre Beach Marine Park so they will be visible from both the beach and the sound side east and west of the Navarre Beach Causeway bridge.
Nashville singer/songwriters are bringing their soulful, gritty, country melodies to the Destin Harbor for a live concert on our main stage! The Songwriter’s Tour offers an opportunity to enjoy the hits heard on the radio every day performed “acoustically live in concert” by the songwriters who wrote them. The songwriters will also provide guests with the “story behind the songs”, life experiences, and a peek behind the scenes in Nashville in a series of casual, intimate performances hosted at iconic venues. Fan meet-and-greets and other special guest amenities will follow each performance.

This is a “Prediction Run”, free to NWFTC members. No early registration. Arrive early, sign up, and run, walk, or and combination of either that will get you to the finish line closest to your predicted time. No watches, GPS devices, or music allowed…sorry. The run will be followed by a potluck picnic (we provide the meat), Presentation of Grand Prix awards, and election of officers for 2018.
This 5K is in support of One Hopeful Place. Shirts will be guaranteed to those who pre-register by 7/6/2017. If you check donate shirt, we will give the amount of your shirt to the fundraiser. There will also be a half mile kids run. Come out and join us for the 13th annual Josh Sprinkle Memorial 5k. Before the race begins, there will be donuts, bagels, and fruit. After the race ends there will be free massages. There will be dozens of door prizes given away (MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN), including restaurant gift certificates and unique local prizes. Sweet Seasons Corn Maze is open on Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays through November 6, 2017. Attempt the corn maze during the day or on Friday nights if you dare maneuver the maze in the dark. Besides the corn maze, there are so many other activities to enjoy while visiting the farm, including the hayride, corn cannon, and the many kids playground attractions. Of course, if you get hungry, there are food and snacks, too!
Don’t miss the Nightmare on the Old Spanish Trail. This haunted trail in Baker is only a short ride from the Fort Walton Beach and Destin area and well worth the visit. However, prepare yourself for the terror you will find in the woods during your journey through the trail. You never know who or what may be lurking behind the bend or tree. Ticket sales begin 1 hour prior to opening and the last tickets are sold 1 hour prior to closing.
Get a jump on Halloween with Halloween Haunt at Destin Commons. Kids & dogs can come dressed in their best costumes for the Costume Contest for ages 0-12 that begins at 6:00 PM. Trick or treating will be from 7:00 – 8:00 PM at various sidewalk stations throughout Destin Commons and at participating stores. Other Halloween activities such as fantasy face painting, creepy crafts, and a photo booth will also be available.
Don’t miss Tricks & Treasures at The Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. This event offers an evening of free fun with safe trick or treating. live entertainment, live music, carnival games, a hula hoop contest, and more! Kids eat free with the coupon you receive at the event! Be sure to pick up your treasure map outside Black Pearl and visit each merchant on the map for an X, then drop off your treasure map at The Crab Trap for a special treat! Captain Davy and crew will be entertaining everyone with plenty of pirate shenanigans, music, balloon sculpting, and more at Al’s Beach Club & Burger Bar from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Trick or treat through the village streets of the tranquil Baytowne Wharf. Face painting & Halloween crafts will be provided by Abrakadoodle. Dance on the stage as the DJ playing frighteningly good tunes. There will be fireworks over the Baytowne Lagoon starting at 8pm.
Destin Commons & Bass Pro Shops welcome Santa to light the Holiday Tree! Come out for holiday projects and character photo opportunities and live entertainment with Sinfonia and festive carolers. Then sit back and marvel at a holiday parade with Santa down Main Street as he arrives to light 50 feet of the most spectacular holiday tree on the Emerald Coast with a fireworks finale to kick off the Season! This is one Christmas activity you don’t want to miss. Each year, the residents of Northgate Estates in Fort Walton Beach come together for an amazing display of luminaries and Christmas lights. Hundreds of houses within this neighborhood display massive Christmas decorations. The sense of community is incredible as you see many residents of the neighborhood celebrating the event with outdoor block parties surrounding a toasty, warm fire pit while waiving to the thousands of onlookers. As you slowly drive through the subdivision, you’ll see dancing lights on houses, religious displays, Santa Claus, and other Christmas characters. The annual Live Nativity presented by First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach will be December 15-20 from 6-8:30 pm. This event is FREE and includes real animals including goats, sheep, miniature ponies, and camels. Have your photo taken with Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus!
2017 dates TBA If you really want to experience the true meaning of Christmas, the Cross Creek Hayride hosted by Ropin’ the Truth Ministries will take you through the life of Jesus Christ, starting with his birth, continuing through his crucifixion and into his resurrection. You will experience a series of dramatic scenes by volunteers while you ride through the woods on a hayride. Other activities are on site such as horseback riding, crafts, refreshments, and more! This event is completely free and everyone is invited.
HarborWalk Village will host a New Year’s Eve Street Party to wind down 2017 and welcome 2018. Party the night away with thousands of people and enjoy a live concert, great dining, drinks, dancing, and more. The 9th Annual Ball Drop over the harbor will be back again this year. Fireworks shows will be a 8:00 PM AND Midnight. More information to be posted closer to the date.
The Boardwalk presents the 2nd Annual Pelican Plunge benefiting The Emerald Coast Foundation! 63rd Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival 2018 schedule will be posted below as the festival approaches. Billy Bowlegs is a fun event for the whole family. There are tons of activities for kids as well as vendors selling pirate booty and local crafts. There will be great live music, and food vendors selling everything from ice cream to seafood. The festival is on Friday and Saturday, June 1-2, 2018. The fireworks display will be on June 1 at 9:00 pm. The Torchlight Parade will be on June 4 at 7:00 pm.
The Billy Bowlegs Torchlight Parade is one of the largest parades on the Emerald Coast. Come join the whole city on June 4, 2018 in this fun parade with Captain Billy Bowlegs and his Krewe. The Krewe of Bowlegs, along with many local businesses, will be sharing their wealth by throwing out plenty of beads, candy, doubloons, and other pirate booty. This parade is filled with festive music, costumes, beautifully crafted floats, marching bands, and a fun crowd all along the parade route. 2018 Torchlight Parade Route The route begins from downtown Fort Walton Beach, FL at 7:00 pm on Monday, June 4, 2018 and heads north up Eglin Parkway, ending just past Uptown Station (at Hughes St).
