July 4th Fireworks
The time of year to celebrate our Independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain will soon be here. On July 4, fireworks celebrations will take place all along the Emerald Coast. Some of the celebrations takes place before the 4th of July, so you can catch multiple fireworks shows! These displays are not just beautiful; they represent our freedom. They stand for all of the opportunities that we have as Americans. Below are several fireworks displays to celebrate Independence Day 2017.

July 4th Fireworks on the Emerald Coast
Smoke on the Coast – July 3, 2016 -9:00 pm – Start your Independence Day early at Destin Commons with great BBQ, live music, street performers, and kids activities. This 6th annual event benefits local charities. There will be 20 area restaurants competing in the BBQ competition fighting for the People’s choice award of best BBQ on the Emerald Coast. Starts at 5:00 pm and samples are $1 each.
4th of July Fireworks over the Harbor – July 4, 2016 – 9:00 PM – The City of Destin with additional activities from HarborWalk Village will host this Independence Day fireworks show along with fun and festivities at HarborWalk Village. (more…)

Each Wednesday night at 9:00 pm during the Summer, a beautiful fireworks show takes place on the Okaloosa Island Pier. Update coming soon!
This is a great time to enjoy the beautiful beaches of Fort Walton Beach at night AND watch a great show. These fireworks displays are FREE. Just bring a towel, blanket, or chair, and claim your spot on the beautiful beaches. After the display, be sure to visit the bars and restaurants on Okaloosa Island.

Florida’s Emerald Coast is host to many fireworks displays and celebrations. Local and visitors alike love a great fireworks show and you have many choices throughout the year. Of course, you New Year’s Even, Memorial Day, and Independence Day are holidays known for great fireworks, there are many more opportunities that you don’t want to miss. There are plenty of show during the Summer in Destin and Fort Walton Beach.

The time of year is upon us already; the American celebration of independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is a National holiday and is celebrated along the Emerald Coast with BBQ, boating, relaxing on the beach, and, of course, fireworks. There are many 4th of July fireworks displays all over the Emerald Coast. So if you can’t make one of them, don’t worry, there are a lot more opportunities to see the fireworks and celebrate our country’s freedom! Here they are:
Destin – (June 29th, 2012) City of Destin’s 4th Annual Independence Day Celebration and Bike Parade – This event will be from 6:30 pm to 9 pm at Morgan Sports Center in Destin on Friday, June 29th. The whole family is invited and the activities are for children of all ages. Kids 14 and under can decorate their bikes, scooters, or wagons with patriotic designs to enter the bicycle parade. Parade check-in will begin at 5:45 pm next to the concession stand. In addition to the parade, there will be live music, kickball, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, moonwalks, and much more. Following the end of the celebration, the fireworks display show will begin. Bring your chairs, blankets, and snacks. Pets are NOT allowed at this event. Fort Walton Beach – City of Fort Walton Beach 4th of July Celebration will be on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm at The Landing. The event will include live entertainment, food/merchandise vendors, bicycle parade for children, a flyer-over by our Air Force, and many children’s games and activities. Around 9:15 pm, the fireworks show will begin. For more information call 850-833-9509.
Navarre – At dark on Wednesday, July 4th 2012, the Navarre Area Chamber of Commerce and the Santa Rosa County TDC will show off a fireworks display at the Black Skimmer Pavilion in Navarre Beach Park.
Crestview – The Annual Fourth of July fireworks display in Crestview, FL will be at the Old Spanish Trail Park pavilion on Stilwell Blvd. The national anthem will be sung, immediately followed by the fireworks show on July 4th, 2012 at 9:00 pm.
Defuniak Springs – The City of Defuniak Springs, FL will host a Fourth of July Celebration with a fireworks show on July 4th, 2012 from 4:30-9:00. The celebration will begin at 4:30 pm with a parade, opening ceremonies at 6:00 pm, 6:15 pm a flyover, and a fireworks display around 8:45-9:00 (at dark). The event will take place at the Lakeyard. The Village of Baytowne Wharf in Destin, will celebrate Independence day with the Red, White, and Baytowne celebration on July 4, 2012. Activities such as face painting, crafts, and stilt walkers will take place from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Live music from The Shrimpboat Cowboys will be from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The spectacular fireworks show will be at 9:15 pm.
Destin – The City of Destin’s annual Fourth of July fireworks celebration will take place over the East Pass at the Destin Harbor at 9:00 pm on July 4th. Tune into 105.5 The Wolf for the broadcasting of the soundtrack for the fireworks
Destin Commons – Smoke on the Coast BBQ and Fireworks Festival – The event, which benefits Fisher House will feature live music, pirate magic, art projects, face painting, street dancing, and games. Be sure to taste the delicious BBQ samples from the area BBQ teams for only $1 each and enjoy the entertainment. This 2nd annual event will take place from 7:00-9:00 pm on July 1, 2012. The fireworks display will begin at 9:00pm.
HarborWalk Village – Destin, FL – 4th of July Extravaganza on the Harbor – Come see the 3rd Annual HarborWalk Hot Dog Eating Contest, listen to a concert by Clinch 46, participate in family activities, contests, and giveaways, followed by an Independence Day fireworks show over the harbor. Festivities begin at 6:00 pm and end at 10:00 pm. Be ready for the fireworks around 9:00 pm.
Niceville – Valparaiso – Niceville’s July 4th fireworks show will take place on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 over Boggy Bayou in Niceville. The fireworks will launched from a barge located between Lion’s Park and Lincoln Park in Niceville, FL. The fireworks will begin at dusk (between 8:30-9:00 pm).
Milton, FL – July 4th Riverfest 2012 – The Historic Downtown Milton North and Sound Willing Street & Riverwalk area will host live music, arts, crafts, vendor booths, and food vendors. The fireworks display will take place of the Blackwater River at dark on July 4th. Boaters can anchor in the Blackwater River to watch the display. Please observe a No Wake Zone from the North side of Russell Harber Landing to the Railroad Bridge. Make sure to bring blankets or chairs and enjoy the fireworks show.
Rosemary Beach 4th of July Celebration – Activities begin at 7:30 am and end with the fireworks show around 8:45 pm. Festivities includes a Bike decorating breakfast & bike parade at 7:30am at North Barrett Square, family field day from 9:00-11:00am at Western Green, BBQ from 5:00-7:00pm at Eastern Green, Concert on the Green from 6:30-8:30 pm at Western Green, and the fireworks at 8:45pm. The best view for the fireworks is on the beach.
Seaside – Enjoy the Stars and Stripes Concert by Sinfonia Gulf Coast at 7:00 pm at the Ampitheater stage on July 4th. This concert under the stars will feature some of your favorite patriotic music along with some familiar tunes from popular films. Bring your blankets and low back chairs and get there early to secure your spot, because this popular event fills up quickly. After the concert, be ready at 9:00 pm for the Seaside Fireworks Spectacular over the Gulf of Mexico. The best seats are at the Ampitheater or anywhere along the beach in town.
